Are we years off from a sans-screen door effect Daydream?

While the industry has barely been able to really accomplish removing the screen door effect from the mainstream VR headsets like Vive, Rift, PSVR, mobile phones still have this issue due to lack of performance.

Are we all pretty confident that Google Daydream won't have a phone that completely does away with the screen door effect for at least another few years?

The devil on my shoulder thinks this way, but the angel on the other shoulder tells me that there will be one phone manufacturer who builds a smartphone that is completely optimized specifically for Daydream and it will be able to take care of the screen door issues. What do y'all think?

I believe he means the visible 'grid' you can see through the DayDream (and I assume other VR headsets as well) due to the magnification of the screen.
